1. Start a fundraising page
Simply decide what kind of event or activity you want to organise and create your fundraising page. Or you might like to use one of our appeals or events as the driver for your fundraiser. Then you can personalise your page by adding photos, blog posts and use your social media to promote it.
2. Share your page
Time to rustle up some support. Tell friends, family and anyone else who’ll listen about your event and what inspired you to organise it. Invite them to check out your fundraising page, where they can donate and leave messages for you. Keep them in the loop with social media updates. Don't be shy about what you're trying to achieve: shout it from the rooftops if you must! You're doing a wonderful thing and you never know who you may inspire to do the same.
3. Help those who need it most
Last year, Oxfam helped 8 million people in 30 countries thanks to some 320,000 Australians who gave their time and money to the cause. Their contribution made a difference — so will yours! The money (and awareness) you generate through your fundraising event will help poor communities to build brighter futures.
